TEAM UMaT DEPARTS

The UMaT sports team has departed to Tamale to partake in the 25th GUSA games Competition , hosted by the University of Development Studies, Tamale campus.

The Team led by coach Micky and under the supervision of the University of Mines and Technology Sports Coordinator , Mr. Thomas Kwentwi , will partake in 5 out the 15 games which will take place at Tamale with over 60 sports personnel.

UMaT vs KNUST

Team UMaT's Performance in recent GUSA tournaments has been nothing but poor ; Umat probably has the record for most defeats in a GUSA game with regards to Football and Basketball .
The football team were trashed 5 goals to 0 in their first game against UEW at UCC last year ;which was the highest defeat in Group B .

UMaT also managed to record bad times on the tracks and only manged to win Bronze in the 200m heat competition.

Going into this Tournament , The team would want to redeem their diminished image in this inter-university competition .
Preparation toward this tournament was high and it is in the hope of every UMaT student that UMaT performs to the highest peak of excellence!

The Soccer team features players who shined in the VC's Cup last year; The best player of the 4th VC's cup Evans Aboagye will be repping , along side Charles Opoku of MA3 -- scored a stunner against Legon last year . The only "miss" in the Football team will be the Ultimate Coach Nana BaaKo (Star Boy; Peace Boy) but with Coach Micky on board , there is nothing to worry.

The Volleyball Team is set to dazzle ; both the Male and Female volleyball team will be participating.

UMaT Basketball team 2010

The Basketball team are in search of "Redemtion" -- where ever he may be!
What will be the fate of the Basketball team this time around ? Will they succumb to the big Dawgs or will they pull one out of the bag and surprise us all . We just have to wait and see as they face off with KNUST at the UDS sports arena this sunday at exactly 1pm.

Ghana’s favourite son is back or should I say Kotoko’s star boy is back. Judging from the poor management of Ghana’s former coach - Avram Grant, It was imperative that Ghanaian fans will turn on him . Coach Avram Grant’s stay in Ghana as the head coach of the senior side and earning close to about 250,000 cedis was seen as greedy and wicked by ordinary citizens who hardly made any income in the supposedly corrupt Government, that was sent packing in the 2016 general elections. Avram Grant left the coaching position and the Country in the first week of February,2017 after repeated speculations that he was going to be fired within that month – could say he prevented a major career disgrace! Paul Pogba's extraordinary transfer fee could have been avoided had Alex Ferguson not sold him to Juventus, whiles he was trying to find grounds at Old Trafford. Paul Pogba has widely been criticized for his pathetic performance at the Old Trafford and has been cited as one of the most disappointing transfers in the club's history. Pogba's performance isn't that disappointing but considering his transfer fee and the hype building to and after his transfer makes his performance unsatisfactory Paul Pogba is, however, starting to become the player he was at Juventus as he beat big names like Hazard and Neymar to lead the Assist chart across Europe. RONALDINHO RETIRES

We all knew it was just a matter of time before Ronaldinho unofficially called it quits in football, but just like all the great things, it came unexpectedly and the FOOTBALL world is proud and sad at the same time. Ronaldinho brought something that had been missing in the game of football --Style. Football had style way before Ronaldinho came, but after seeing his style and craft, we knew we had been seeing garbage all those times. He had the pace of a Ferrari and Turing force of an F16 Raptor. He literally moved pass anyone who faced him in a duel and sometimes managed to get some little time off to entertain fans to do that extra dribble for the joy of millions. The world has been flooded by footballers who try to imitate Ronaldinho's style of play but the never gets to that level we saw in Ronaldinho. Everybody wants to be like Ronaldinho after watching his Videos but never has anyone reached the pinnacle of Ronaldinho's success, except Ronaldinho himself
