Battle of Superiority

The Gusa Games are here again and on this day we review the teams and see how they will fare against each other in this year's competition. Lets go!

THE TEAMS

UDS

As the host of this tournament , they would want to make it a host and win situation , but judging from their recent performances in the GUSA games , it might be highly unlikely to see UDS in the top 3 .

UEW

Ranked 3rd in last Years Mini-GUSA games with 9 gold medals , 11 silver medals and 9 bronze medals -- Sweet!
Ever since hosting and winning some years ago , they seem to have lost their form ... Their Nemesis UCC has been on the top and always driving UEW to the ground when they go head to head .
UEW would want to turn their under-par performance around and move back to the top .

UCC

Words can't define them . They are like run-away Manchester city , always breaking boundaries and setting new records.
They won an astonishing 28 gold medals , 19 silver medals and 5 bronze medals . In every competition , they win something -- except Football , they were beaten by KNUST in last years Football Finals.

UG (Legon)

They managed to place second overall last year , which was kinda surprising since their soccer team coudn't even match that of UMaT's  .
10 gold medals , 12 silver and 11 bronze ; this how much Legon's Medal room was upped last year .
They love to party and they love to win -- in their books winning ranges from 1st to 3rd . Go! Legon!

KNUST

Stole the Football trophy from UCC and made them cry in-front of the king of cape-coast. Straight out of  Kumasi , they would want to make the Asantehene proud again by winning this year's tournament.
They placed fourth last year with 2 gold medals , 2 silver medals and 5 bronze medals.

UENR

last but one last year and are definately coming for redemtion.Hopefuly this year they will pick up more than one bronze medal.

UHaS

First time here and will want to make the impossible happen by winning  a gold medal .

UPSA

With all the experience and strength , they always seem to under-impress. They came last in last years tournament and will surely be battling with UHAS , UMaT and UNENR to go above each other -- The League Of Three Musketeers .

UMaT

The Best team in west -- wait , how many teams are in the west ? UMaT improved significantly in last years tournament and would want to keep the momentum going . The fans are praying and haters are waiting . Whats it gonna be ? UMaT UP or UMaT Down ?
UMaT placed 6th  last year with just one bronze medal . Lets Hope the change Team management will be complementary to their Performance this year . "UMAT WIN!!"

Thank you for reading , I will be back with more juicy stories about the competition , stay tuned , I will be back! ; )

APPIAH RETURNS

Ghana’s favourite son is back or should I say Kotoko’s star boy is back. Judging from the poor management of Ghana’s former coach - Avram Grant, It was imperative that Ghanaian fans will turn on him . Coach Avram Grant’s stay in Ghana as the head coach of the senior side and earning close to about 250,000 cedis was seen as greedy and wicked by ordinary citizens who hardly made any income in the supposedly corrupt Government, that was sent packing in the 2016 general elections. Avram Grant left the coaching position and the Country in the first week of February,2017 after repeated speculations that he was going to be fired within that month – could say he prevented a major career disgrace! Avram Grant will surely not be missed by Ghanaians in anyway ,but one person who’s exit from the senior national side was missed by most Ghanaians in the “Don of Grant”  was Ghana’s own James Kwesi Appiah ,who managed the senior side from 2012-2014 and went into the record books as the first Ghana

POGBA UNDERRATED

Paul Pogba was bought at a record 89 million ponds -- The highest Man U has ever spent on a player. Paul Pogba's extraordinary transfer fee could have been avoided had Alex Ferguson not sold him to Juventus, whiles he was trying to find grounds at Old Trafford. Paul Pogba has widely been criticized for his pathetic performance at the Old Trafford and has been cited as one of the most disappointing transfers in the club's history. Pogba's performance isn't that disappointing but considering his transfer fee and the hype building to and after his transfer makes his performance unsatisfactory Paul Pogba is, however, starting to become the player he was at Juventus as he beat big names like Hazard and Neymar to lead the Assist chart across Europe. He has played just 13 games whiles his fellow competitors are averaging over 20 games -- Leroy Sane & Debruyne. Is Podga underrated considering his Hard work and influence in Manchester United'S Rejuv

Kwadwo Asamoah Dropped From Inter Milan’s Europa League Squad

After playing in the Champions League earlier, the Ghana international is missing from Antonio Conte’s squad for the secondary European competition. Kwadwo Asamoah will not be playing for Inter Milan in the knockout stage of the Uefa Europa League this season. The 31-year-old was excluded from the selection on Monday while Nigeria’s Victor Moses made the 22-man team for the competition. Asamoah’s last outing for the Nerazzurri was against Roma on December 6 when he came on as a 72nd-minute substitute, and since then, he has been battling to regain match fitness after recovering from a knee injury. He was an unused substituted in Inter Milan’s 2-0 win over Udinese on Sunday and featured in three Champions League games before their eventual demotion to the Europa League. Meanwhile, Moses who reunited with Antonio Conte after completing a six-month loan from Chelsea in January, joins other new signings like Christian Eriksen and Ashley Young in the selection.
