Kwasi Appiah Offers CK Akonnor Black Stars Advice


The 59-year-old has refused to close the door on the Black Stars for good.
 
Former Ghana coach James Kwesi Appiah is not ruling out another stint with the Black Stars.

The 59-year-old brought a two-year stint to an end on December 31, 2019 as the Ghana Football Association (GFA) decided against renewing his contract.

It was his second spell in charge of the Black Stars following a first tenure between 2012 and 2014.

''I am a professional coach. I haven’t said I have resigned [from coaching]. If I come out to say that I am not coaching anymore that’s a different issue,'' Appiah told Graphic Sports in response to a question about whether he is open to a third Ghana stint.

Following the expiration of his contract, Appiah has since been replaced by former Ghana and Wolfsburg captain CK Akonnor as Black Stars coach.

“All I want to tell Akonnor is that he should be very firm in each decision that he takes," Appiah said.

"He needs to give the players 100 per cent respect so that they can also respect him.

"I can’t talk about what he should do because every coach has his own philosophy."

Appiah also previously coached Sudanese side Al-Khartoum.

Kwadwo Asamoah Dropped From Inter Milan’s Europa League Squad

GUSA CROSS COUNTRY UMaT 17

Hello  and welcome to this week's edition of Sports by  FT9. This week we focus our attention on the just ended GUSA cross country competition on UMaT campus -- Sports by FT9 headquarters. The last time  a GUSA competition was held on UMaT campus was six years ago and it was a competition of the same nature as the one held today.  The various teams arrived on UMaT campus on Thursday, 2nd November,2017 and were officially welcomed to UMaT by the Vice Chancellor , Professor J. S. Y. Kuma  on Friday, 3rd November,2017. A total of 9 public universities registered for the competition : UMaT , UG (Legon) ,UHAS,KNUST, UEW, UCC, UPSA, UDS and UENR . The competition was governed by IAAF rules  and the mandatory number of athletes both male and female required to compete was 10 athletes each , this basically meant if a team had less than 8 athletes then they will  be allowed to compete but will not score any point.
